Gordon Gallery
The original Gordon Gallery was founded in 1966 on Gordon Street. The present Gordon Gallery is situated on Ben-Yehuda Street. In the past forty-five years the gallery has held over 400 exhibitions, published countless catalogues and two major art books. The first auction house was also set up in the gallery in 1977 and auctions were held there every half a year for twenty-five years.
In the sixties and seventies the Gordon Gallery was the place that young avant-garde artists were given the chance to shine in and become a recognized name. Many artists who today stand at the forefront of Israeli art started their careers exhibiting in the leading Gordon Gallery.
Since 2002 when the establishment changed hands, there has been an emphasis on exhibiting photography in the gallery as well as contemporary art work by leading Israeli artists.
