Tel Aviv

Tel aviv was founded as a suburb of Jaffa in 1909 by a group of Jews and today is the second most heavily-populated city in Israel. Tel Aviv means “Spring Hill” – “Tel” means a man-made hill that covers an ancient settlement, “Aviv” means Spring which is the time of rebirth. Therefore the name Tel Aviv has the very beautiful meaning of the rejuvenation of the that which is ancient and the non-stop metropolis that is Tel Aviv today is testimony to the fulfillment of this prophetic name.
